PASTOR R.W. SMITH

                                            Pastor R. W. Smith is the fifth of twelve children born to the late C.C. and    

                                             Rosie Smith. R. W.spent the first ten years of his life in Monroe, LA and then                                        relocated to Las Vegas where he completed his education and graduated

                                          from Western High School. After graduation R. W. started his college education

                                  at UNLV. In 1970 R. W. started employment at Southwest Gas Co. and this was disrupted by the U.S. draft and in 1971 he changed his focus to serving his country in the U. S. Army.

 

After completing his time with the Arm, including a tour
of Vietnam, R. W. retuned home to continue the next phase of his life; he resumed his career
with Southwest Gas and went on to complete 42 years before retiring.
During his time in the Army R. W. was able to complete his certificate of Electronic
Communications at El Paseo Community College in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Pastor R. W. has always had a quest for knowledge including: {1980-1984}receiving his
certificate of completion from the Las Vegas Charismatic School of the Bible; certificate of
completion 2006 Pastor’s Conference Glorieta New Mexico; 2017 certificate On-line Study of the
Bible Story, Houston Baptist University.

 

Other accomplishments include: Secretary for several years of the Minister’s Alliance; President
of PNBC State of Nevada 1990; PNBC Congress Christian Education, Dean and currently
President 2018.

 

Pastor R. W. preached his first sermon in 1971, and accepted his calling into the ministry in
1981. Pastor R. W. was Co-Pastor for seven years at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church under
the leadership of Late Pastor J. C. Coleman. He went on to become the Pastor of Congregational
Baptist Church for one year.

 

In 1991 after the retirement of his father Rev. C. C. Smith, he accepted the position of Pastor of
Tried Stone Baptist Church.

 

Pastor R. W. continues to meet the challenges of being the Under-Shepherd to God’s people
head-on, and always by his side is Lady Sharon. Together they have eight children and 18
grandchildren.

 

Pastor R. W. has a sincere desire to see God’s people secure all that God has for them, to equip
them for the battle and to one day see them again in heaven.
